Hakashenyi SACCO Holds Annual Staff Picnic at Hilltop Hotel Kigongi

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Hakashenyi SACCO brought together its vibrant team for the annual staff picnic held at Hilltop Hotel Kigongi in Kabale Town. The event, aimed at fostering social interaction, teamwork, and celebrating staff achievements, was graced by the Chairman of Ahakashenyi SACCO, Mr. Mugambagye Julius, the General Manager, Mr. Deo Mubangizi, and staff from branches in Kabale and Rubanda districts.

The day kicked off with exciting games, including rope jumping and a thrilling football match. Team A, led by General Manager Mr. Deo Mubangizi, faced off against Team B, captained by Mr. Owoyesigye Nicolas. After a nail-biting match that ended in a 0-0 draw, Team A triumphed in penalty shootouts with a 5-4 victory. The games symbolized the importance of teamwork and cooperation within the SACCO.

In his speech, Mr. Mubangizi Deo, the General manager expressed profound gratitude to the staff for their dedication and contributions to the SACCO’s success. He highlighted career growth within the organization, noting how many staff members had risen through the ranks from cashiers to managerial positions. He recognized the exceptional efforts of volunteers, branch managers, and departments, attributing the SACCO’s remarkable performance to their teamwork and commitment.

Mr. Mubangizi shared the SACCO’s financial milestones, he stated “We had a target to raise 6 billion UGX by the end of 2024, and I am proud to announce that we have achieved it. Our target for 2025 is even higher 12 billion UGX.”

He emphasized continuous learning and urged staff to pursue professional qualifications, such as CPA, to stay competitive. He concluded by acknowledging the efforts of all branches and encouraging everyone to maintain a growth-oriented mindset.

Mr. Gidion Twesigomwe, the Chairman of the Picnic Committee, lauded his team for organizing a successful event. He thanked the SACCO management for approving the budget and expressed optimism about hosting future picnics outside Kabale. He reaffirmed the picnic’s purpose: to appreciate staff for their outstanding performance and motivate them for the coming year. He noted, “This picnic is an opportunity to thank all our staff for their exceptional performances. It is my hope that future events will allow us to explore venues outside Kabale, budget.”

Representing the Board of Directors, Mr. Mugambagye Julius delivered a powerful message emphasizing diligence and accountability. He conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the staff and management for their relentless efforts. He praised the volunteers for their invaluable contributions and urged staff to uphold trustworthiness and integrity in handling clients’ funds. Drawing inspiration from his quote, “The importance of the river, you know it after it has dried,” he emphasized the need for diligence and accountability.

The day ended with an awards ceremony where outstanding performers were celebrated with envelopes of appreciation. Every staff member received a personalized gift a flask as a token of gratitude. Madam Spacious delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, saying, “Today has been a remarkable day of unity and celebration. Thank you all for your hard work and dedication.” A closing prayer marked the end of the event, leaving the staff motivated and energized.

Ahakashenyi SACCO’s 2024 picnic not only celebrated achievements but also set the tone for a prosperous year ahead. With a shared commitment to excellence and teamwork, the SACCO is poised for even greater success in 2025.
